A Very Merry UnBirthday

Our Iddle Biddles turned 6 months old today. Wow the time has just flown by. It is quite a milestone for us as a family. We have survived 6 months. Although Eli has made it pretty easy on us.
Birthdays are a big deal in the Bacon household...even 1/2 birthdays must be paid due respect. Cake and all.
I attempted my first character cake...Cookie Monster. Eli's favorite. I must say after seeing the awesome cakes Margie makes I am dying to take a class.

Eli was in awe of flame.

That was, of course until he got his hands on the frosting...We were planning on allowing Eli a finger taste...but Eli had other plans. Our little monkey's hands got away from us during our family photo shoot and into the frosting.
Here's his first taste.
He loved it.
His face says it all! Blue frosting everywhere!

I must say I teared up a bit when I realized how quickly the time had passed. Eli is the best thing Dave and I have ever done. We cherish every crazy moment with this Lil' Man.
Happy 1/2 Birthday Eli!
Mommy and Daddy Love you!

Yummy Yummy rice cereal

We fed the Biddles solids for the first (rice cereal) and it was a mixed reaction. He was happy to be trying something new, and having lots of fun with it, but he wasn't a big fan of the taste. And we couldn't blame him. Taryn and I each tried a little to show Eli that everything was cool, and boy did it taste terrible! I don't think our faces helped.

Bring it Michael Phelps

It took some time, but we finally got Eli back into his "pool" on a day that was bright and warm, so that this time he didn't freeze his little nay nays. I think that's a technical term. Even so, it was still a bit cool and a shock to his system.

But once he got used to it, he really started going - kicking his little legs a mile a minute.

Even when absorbed by the trees or birds, or Taryn or I talking to him, he was still churning his little legs faster than you could imagine.

Hat Trick

On a recent stop at Babys-R-Us, we took a minute to play. Eli tried on his frist cowboy and 9ers hats, and loved the attention. Both hats were huge on him. Looks like Dad needs to replace his hat ...
